The death of seedlings at the nursery stage is the main problem of cultivating pink cedar (
Acrocarpus fraxinifolius
Wight &
Arn). The aim of this study is to determine the agriculturally correct treatment to avoid this problem, evaluating different treatments in the production of seedlings and, therefore, to improve the production of the plant. The variance analysis showed differences between the treatments and in a comparison of the average heights of young plants after 21 days by Tukey, treatment 3 showed the best growth rate and treatment 5 the worst. The conclusions were: the principal cause of plant death was due to the presence of Damping-Off or fungal dryness wchich is caused by several fungus like
Rhizoctoniasolani,Pythiumultimum,Phytophthora,Bortytis and
Verticillum and the best agricultural and cost-benefit results were obtained by the treatment consisting of 2g clorotalinil, 2.5 g Captan and giberelic acid.
