en Capcil: Drug therapy monitoring software
Dr. S. B. Ray, Dr. N. N. Rege

Abstract

Capcil is a useful tool for the physicians to monitor the drug therapy. This Window-based application includes different specialty programs viz. patient assessment, renal dosing, therapeutic drug monitoring, adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and drug use evaluation. With the help of these programmes it is possible to maintain patient records, retrieve information easily to find out results of therapies, predict dosage regimen to individualize therapy, determine doses in patients with compromised renal function and document ADRs. By maintaining detailed record of each patient from the time of admission, therapy trends can be observed. It is also possible to carry out therapeutic audit retrospectively and prospectively. This system allows streamlining of the healthcare facilities.
