Abstract

This review describes the changes produced by the invasión of the urban environment into the natural habitat of triatomines, especially Panstrongylus geniculatus check for this species in other resources , known vectors of Chagas’ disease. Changes in habitat are described and the colonization of domestic environments by triatomines, as well as the importance of these changes and their impact on transmission of Chagas’ disease. Some measures are proposed to limit the presence of triatomines in urban dwellings

Resumen

La presente revisión describe los cambios ocurridos por la invasión del ambiente urbano a el hábitat natural de los triatominos vectores de la enfermedad de Chagas, especialmente Panstrongylus geniculatus check for this species in other resources . Se describen los cambios en el hábitat y la colonización del ambiente doméstico por los triatominos, y su significación como vectores de la Enfermedad de Chagas. Se proponen algunas medidas para limitar o impedir la presencia de los triatominos en las viviendas urbanas.
