Animal models of human glioma: the progress of application and investigation ZHU, Hui-Fang; ZHANG, Yuan-Xu & ZHAO, Xu-Dong Abstract The glioma accounts for half of the central nervous tumors, among which the glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one of the most aggressive and lethal brain tumors. The difficulties in glioma therapy indicate the need of appropriate animal models for preclinical studies. Benefiting from the development of molecular biology, genetics, and transgenic technology, variable animal models of glioma have been established.
