General

Tsinghua Science and Technology sponsored by Tsinghua University started publication home and abroad in 1996, bimonthly. It publishes original research articles which reflect the latest achievements in basic theory and experimental studies in various engineering fields and in mathematical sciences, life science, chemistry, physics, and so on. The contributions within the above scope all over the world are welcome.

Manuscript preparation

Manuscript should be in English and typed on only one side of paper size A4 and double space. In addition, a manuscript disk (based on Word format) that contains the material to be considered for publication, three copies of the full-length paper are to be sent to: Editorial Board of Journal of Tsinghua University, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084, China. The manuscript in electronic type can also be sent to the editorial board by E-mail.

Title and by-line

Should appear on page one. Exact name, affiliation (institution) of the authors, city, zip code, country should be listed.

Abstract

Should be of about 100-150 words on page one, and includes aim, methods, result, and conclusions.

Key words

Should include 3-8 pieces of words or phrases that will assist readers and indexers in cross indexing this paper.

Text

The text should contain an Introduction that puts the paper into perspective for readers, and should also contain Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. Each Equation or Formula in the article should be spaced one line apart from the text and be numbered in the order with Arabic numerals placed on the right hand margin; each Figure, including a, b, c, etc. of each Figure, must present the caption. Standard International units (SI) must be used.

Acknowledgements

Individuals or units other than authors who were of direct help in the work should be acknowledged by a brief statement following the text.

References

Only essential references (journal article, monograph, dissertation, report, proceedings, standard, patent, and/or electronic publication, which were formally published) cited in the text can be listed and must be numbered consecutively by Arabic numerals as they appear in the text, methods, tables then figure legends. Personal communications and unpublished data are not acceptable references. Periodicals should be referred to in the following order: name of author(s), title of paper, name of periodical, year, Vol. (No.): pages. Books should be referred to in the following order: name of author(s), title of book, publishing house, city, year of publication. The reference published in Chinese should be translated into English and noted by "(in Chinese)".

The articles published in Tsinghua Science and Technology are protected by copyright, and cannot legally be published elsewhere in any form without the written permission from Tsinghua Science and Technology.
