Sponsorship/Relationship Opportunities

Dear AusBiotech Members,

As you are all aware, the Australian Biotechnology Association recently received overwhelming support from its membership to move forward as the "voice" of the Australian biotechnology industry with a new name (AusBiotech) and a new constitution. Critical to the implementation of the AusBiotech Business Plan is the essential element of building on the excellent base of AusBiotech's resources and Membership.

To this end, I wish to extend an invitation to all existing and potential new Members to consider supporting the organisation through mutually beneficial sponsorship opportunities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Three-year Corporate Membership pledges to underpin the three-year AusBiotech Business Plan of the organisation;

  • Sponsorship of the Annual AusBiotech Biotechnology Conference in 2002 (18-21 August, 2002) in Melbourne.

  • "Supporters" of AusBiotech for 2001, the year of the inaugural establishment of AusBiotech.

  • Sponsorship/Collaboration/ Partnership of a Peak Biotechnology Directory/Database to create a "one-stop-shop" for Biotechnology Information in Australia;

  • Partnerships for CEO Round Table Fora;

  • Partnerships for "Think-Tank Fora" to Discuss and Formulate Actions for Resolutions of Issues within the Various Biotechnology Sectors in Australia;

  • Educational and Informative Seminars;

  • Biotechnology Workshops;

  • Employment and Career Activities;

  • Networking Functions; and Other Activities/Functions, as required, to foster the Growth of the Australian Biotechnology Industry.

While AusBiotech Branches, Directors, Office Staff and I shall be actively pursuing discussions with Members and the Corporate Community, we welcome approaches from the Corporate, Public, Government and the Service Providing Sectors, with ideas or offers of mutually beneficial support, sponsorship, partnership and collaboration.

FERMENTATION AND BIOPROCESSING INTEREST GROUP SARTORIUS YOUNG SPEAKERS EVENING

FBIG is continuing the tradition of offering a forum for young researchers working in fermentation and bioprocessing science to present their work to an audience of peers and colleagues in the industry. This year the format of the evening has been modified to include presentations from two experienced industry practitioners: Rodney Carbis, Technical Manager, Sartorius Australia , and Chris Miles, Production Manager, Intervet.

Venue: Redback Hotel, Flemington Road, North Melbourne.

Date: Thursday 6th September, 2001

Time: 15:00 - 19:30. Followed by dinner.

Attendance Registration: All those planning to attend the meeting must register their names with Kylie Henderson by fax (03) 9545 2446 or email: kylie.henderson@molsci.csiro.au by 31 August 2001, and advise if they will also be attending the dinner (at own expense) at the Redback Hotel after the meeting. Sartorius Australia has generously provided sponsorship for the evening.
