New Biokemistri format
Editorial
Board
Code Number: bk11013
The
Editorial Board is delighted to introduce a new design and format for
articles published in Biokemistri starting from the present issue (Vol.
23 Issue 3, December 2011). The old format of the journal had been used for
over 10 years and we felt the need to change into a new format to conform to
current trends in scientific journal publishing. Some of the features of the
new format include the introduction of colour within the abstract, main text,
figures and tables, enhanced text font parameters, and new arrangements of the
first page and sections of the article. The new format has efficiently reduced
the total number of pages per article and total printed volume, in support of
the campaign to reduce our impact on the environment due to excessive paper
usage. This positive change to the journal is aligned with our commitment to
advance the journal as a medium for publication of high-impact excellent
quality original research articles. We encourage you to participate in the
advancement of Biokemistri as an international journal by submitting
your high quality research for consideration for publication.
Starting
from this issue, Biokemistri will be publishing specialized review
articles in the general area of the scope of the journal. While the majority of
reviews will be commissioned on advice of the Editorial Board and the Editorial
Advisory Panel, established researchers are invited to submit relevant
review articles for consideration. One of the objectives of these reviews is
the description of current trends and future directions of research in
biochemistry and the biomolecular sciences in general. It is hoped that future
issues of Biokemistri will feature strategic review articles
commissioned to explore ways of strengthening and optimising the qualities of
pure and applied biomolecular science research in developing countries. This
has always been a core objective of the Nigerian Society for Experimental
Biology (NISEB).
The
dissemination of high-quality original research findings and insightful review
articles remain the objective of Biokemistri as we look forward to
Volume 24 (2012) of the journal. The Editorial Board eagerly awaits
contributions that match these descriptions in the coming year.
