Abstract

Introduction: This is a review of the literature covering the environmental variables associated with the occurrence of Fasciolosis, as related to its character of emerging and reemerging disease.
Objectives: From an ecological perspective, authors proposed and identify a physical, biotic, and anthropogenic environmental approach, based on evidence found in scientific articles and recent textbooks.
Conclusions: A systemic approach was used to provide a more comprehensive view for the study of this disease, and for proposing appropriate intervention strategies in terms of prevention and control.
