Resumen

En el presente trabajo se utilizaron frutos de mamey cosechados en el municipio de Jalpa de Méndez, Tabasco, México durante dos años de producción (2003-2004). Se estudió la incidencia y severidad de la pudrición del fruto, causada por Botryodiplodia theobromae check for this species in other resources . Los resultados mostraron que la incidencia de B. theobromae en los frutos fue de 51,1 y 44,8% en 2003 y 2004, respectivamente y una severidad de 21,38 y 17,42% respectivamente. Esto indica que Botryodiplodia theobromae es un factor importante que afecta negativamente la calidad del fruto de zapote mamey en Tabasco, México.

Abstract

In this present research, sapote mamey fruits were harvested at Jalpa de Méndez, state of Tabasco, Mexico during two years of production (2003-2004). The incidence and severity of the rot originated by the fungus Botryodiplodia theobromae check for this species in other resources was evaluated. Results showed that in two years of evaluation the incidence of B. theobromae in fruits was closed to 50%. In spite of being affected by this fungus the severity was near to 20 %. Botryodiplodia theobromae is a important factor that affect negatively sapote mamey fruit during postharvest in Tabasco, Mexico.
