Bioline International Features & Added Services

Services for Publishers, Editors and Journals

Bioline International's main objective is to provide a means for journals from developing and transitional countries to gain readership and exposure by posting their journal issues on the Bioline website. Designed to increase the online visibility of journals without the necessary infrastructure, Bioline offers the following services FREE to qualified publishers:

  • Metadata creation, for each journal article
  • Storage of the produced electronic versions of each issue by volume and number, with individual tables of contents
  • New issues of each journal are announced via the Bioline news page
  • Comprehensive contact, article submission and background information that is easily accessible for readers of each specific journal to help promote the exchange of papers, ideas, and feedback
  • Site-wide search capabilities, which ensure maximum exposure of a journals articles when users search for a term that applies
  • Unique "species linking" system, which links species information from each article's abstract to ten external databases, allowing users to easily access related information
  • Detailed monthly reports that illustrate user statistics for each journal individually, including information about the number of abstracts, full-text, and journal information pages accessed
  • Group promotion and publicity all journals on the website are helped when one individual journal is promoted, as well as when the Bioline International system is promoted as a whole
  • A non-exclusive approach to the hosting of each journal's full-text articles, through which journals are encouraged to work both with Bioline as well as other indexing, hosting and promotional websites

Services offered to researchers, health workers, students and all other users

Bioline International's services for researchers, medical personnel, students and other users are intended to help promote the dissemination of valuable scientific, medical and health related information across borders and boundaries. In an attempt to make content on the Bioline International platform as accessible as possible, services for users include:

  • A wide variety of journals, reports, supplier lists and links to other online resources
  • Searching utility that searches all material on the Bioline International site simultaneously, minimizing research time while providing maximum return of relevant information
  • A"News" section of the website that provides a list of all changes and additions to the website, including new journal issues as they are posted
  • Easy access to general information, article submission and contact methods for particular journals, including links to relevant websites
  • Comprehensive and prompt help for any encountered difficulties via email
  • "New" stickers that clearly identify that material has been added to the system recently
